Relive your memories of going up North for the summer. Authors Christine Byron and Thomas Wilson share pictures, postcards and advertisements from the years past. Their pictorial presentation will transport you back in time when swimming, eating ice cream and looking up at the clouds were on each day's schedule. See images from the 1890s through the 1960s showing the grandeur of nature and tourism in and around Charlevoix and Emmet counties.
Additionally, see images that Ernest Hemingway would have seen as he and his family summered in Emmet County and where he drew inspiration for the Nick Adams Stories.
Ms. Byron and Mr. Wilson are the authors of Vintage Views of the Mackinac Straits Region, Vintage Views of Leelanau County and Vintage Views of the Charlevoix-Petoskey Region.
